IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS

⚠️ WARNING: MUST READ BEFORE CHARGING OR USING YOUR NEW BATTERY

You must read the following safety instructions before using or charging your Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery.

LiPo batteries can be volatile and potentially dangerous if misused. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in fire, serious injury, or property damage.

Advanced Energy Inc, its distributors, and retailers assume no liability for failure to follow these safety instructions.

By purchasing and using this battery, you accept all associated risks. If you do not agree with these terms, please return the battery unused for a full refund.

GENERAL GUIDELINES & WARNINGS

Advanced Energy Inc batteries are not fully charged when shipped. They contain approximately 50% of a full charge.

Use only chargers specifically designed for LiPo batteries. Never use NiCd or NiMH chargers—this could result in fire, injury, or property damage.

Never charge batteries unattended. Remain nearby to monitor charging. Always charge batteries in a LiPo safety sack or other approved fire-safe container.

Some chargers may be incompatible or faulty. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure the charger functions properly. Advanced Energy Inc recommends using Advanced Energy Inc-approved chargers and balancers.

If the battery begins to swell or balloon, stop charging immediately. Move it to a safe location and observe for at least 30 minutes.

Always observe batteries in a safe outdoor area, away from buildings, vehicles, or flammable materials (e.g., a concrete driveway).

Short circuits can cause fires. If wires are accidentally shorted, move the battery to a safe observation area for 30 minutes. Be mindful of the danger of shorts from metal jewelry (rings, etc.).

Chemical reactions are not always immediate—a battery may ignite 15 minutes after a short or crash.

After any crash, place the battery in a safe area for at least 15 minutes, even if no visible damage is present.

If you need to cut battery wires, cut one wire at a time to avoid shorting.

When soldering connectors, use heat shrink tubing to prevent short circuits. Follow safe soldering practices and inspect the work carefully.

BEFORE THE FIRST CHARGE

Inspect the battery for damaged wires, connectors, puffiness, cracks, or other irregularities.

CHARGING PROCESS

Never charge unattended or inside a vehicle.

Charge only in a fire-safe, isolated location.

Let the battery cool to ambient temperature before charging.

Do not charge packs in series unless specifically supported by your charger.

If charging in series, make sure each cell’s voltage is within 0.08V of the other.

Set your charger to match the cell count and voltage printed on the battery label.

Never charge a pack if any cell reads below 3.0V.

Charge at 1C or lower, unless otherwise specified.

Some newer batteries may support >1C rates (see spec sheet).

BREAK-IN (FIRST FEW CYCLES)

Use a conservative 3–5C discharge rate for the first few cycles.

Avoid over-discharging during initial use—doing so may permanently damage the battery.

STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION

Store between 40°F and 70°F (4°C–21°C).

For storage longer than one week, charge to 3.8–3.9V per cell (~50% charge).

Avoid direct sunlight or heat during storage.

In vehicles, keep battery temp between 20°F and 100°F (-6°C to 38°C).

Temperatures above 130°F (54°C) may cause permanent damage and fire risk.

BATTERY CARE

Only use high-quality LiPo chargers. Poor chargers can cause fires.

Avoid punctures—they may result in fire.

 OPERATING TEMPERATURES

Charging: 50–100°F (10–38°C)

ADVANCE ENERGY, INC. (dba Thunder Power RC)

Discharging: 50–140°F (10–60°C)

Let batteries cool completely before recharging.Do not exceed 150°F (65°C) during use or handling.

BATTERY END-OF-LIFE & DISPOSAL

Batteries that lose 20% of capacity must be retired and properly disposed of.

Discharge to 3.0V per cell, insulate wires, and soak battery in a saltwater solution (60 parts water to 1 part salt by weight) for 2–3 days. Then place in a sealed bag and dispose of according to local regulations.
